recently we're having fun reading friends's blogs.(since we can't do much with the baby around)In one of these blogs, our Uni friend posted a recipe of coffee cake and mentioned that it's delicious. Thomas wanted to try. So, i decided to try making the cake yesterday while Grace was asleep. However, she took such a short nap and woke up while i was preparing the material. Since i was half way preparing ingredients, I thought hey why not baking cake together with my girl girl. So i went to carry her on one arm, and let her know that she's going to bake cake for daddy together with mummy ! hey how exciting was that. so we went to get eggs, look for flour, get oil, get salt , sugar.. then ... she started to CRYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..... oh .. mummy , i 'm not ready to bake cake with you yet ! I'm just a small baby! i want nen nen and i want to sleep !!! oh yes oh yes. forgive me baby... Somehow mummy hopes you could do that with mummy already ... how nice it is if we could cook , bake, swim, go do spa.. go for massage, go shopping together... but.. that would be years later... yes yes.. for now... Baby wants nen nen and wants to sleep, change diaper, pass motion, bath , and play for a little while in a day...
So i took her back to sleep.. and later in the evening .. i started to get the ingredients again.. this time, i managed to blend everything .. but baby was awake again.. knowing that she was not ready to bake cake with mummy.. so i told her, BABY !! please give mummy 5 mins ! mummy is baking cake for daddy !!! then she... ngekkk.. ngekk.. ngekk.. again .. so i shouted repeatedly from the kitchen and went to check on her a few times while trying to finish off the cake as soon as possible, but she complained louder and louder ! and then .. BOOM.. the whole thing.. the mixture.. dropped on the floor.. and there goes my coffee cake.. grrrrrrrrrrrrr... !!!
at night.. i tried to do it AGAIN !! I MUST DO THIS COFFEE CAKE ! so i went to prepare all ingredients and started baking while Thomas helped to take care of the baby.. and managed to bake it.. this morning.. i received a sms from thomas. he said.. the cake got no coffee taste.. .. i replied.. hahaha.. so funny.. no coffee taste better than no taste... and he replied again.. ya, got flour taste.
Ha !what a cake ! good try mummy.. ! perhaps i 'll try again next time.. at the moment, if u want to try as well, the whole thing looks simple. and here's the URL

John Newton, the author of the lyrics to Amazing Grace, was born in 1725 in Wapping, London, United Kingdom.[1] Despite the powerful message of "Amazing Grace," Newton's religious beliefs initially lacked conviction; his youth was marked by religious confusion and a lack of moral self-control and discipline.[1]
After a brief time in the Royal Navy, Newton began his career in slave trading. The turning point in Newton's spiritual life was a violent storm that occurred one night while at sea. Moments after he left the deck, the crewman who had taken his place was swept overboard. Although he manned the vessel for the remainder of the tempest, he later commented that, throughout the tumult, he realized his helplessness and concluded that only the grace of God could save him. Prodded by what he had read in Thomas à Kempis' Imitation of Christ, Newton took the first step toward accepting faith.[1]
These incidents and his 1750 marriage to Mary Catlett changed Newton significantly. On his slave voyages, he encouraged the sailors under his charge to pray. He also began to ensure that every member of his crew treated their human cargo with gentleness and concern. Nevertheless, it would be another 40 years until Newton openly challenged the trafficking of slaves.[1]
Some three years after his marriage, Newton suffered a stroke that prevented him from returning to sea; in time, he interpreted this as another step in his spiritual voyage. He assumed a post in the Customs Office in the port of Liverpool and began to explore Christianity more fully. As Newton attempted to experience all the various expressions of Christianity, it became clear that he was being called to the ministry. Since Newton lacked a university degree, he could not be ordained through normal channels. However, the landlord of the parish at Olney was so impressed with the letters Newton had written about his conversion that he offered the church to Newton; he was ordained in June 1764.[1]
In Olney, the new curate met the poet William Cowper, also a newly-born Christian. Their friendship led to a spiritual collaboration that completed the inspiration for "Amazing Grace," the poem Newton most likely wrote in Kineton, Warwickshire[citation needed] around Christmas 1772.[1] The lyrics are based on his reflections on an Old Testament text he was preparing to preach on, adding his perspective about his own conversion while on his slave ship, the Greyhound, in 1748.
Newton's lyrics have become a favourite for Christians, largely because the hymn vividly and briefly sums up the doctrine of divine grace. The lyrics are based on 1 Chronicles 17:16-17, a prayer of King David in which he marvels at God's choosing him and his house. Newton apparently wrote this for use in a sermon he preached on this passage on New Year's Day 1773, and for which he left his sermon notes, which correspond to the flow of the lyrics[2]. (He entitled the piece "Faith's review and expectation.")
The song has also become known as a favorite with supporters of freedom and human rights, both Christian and non-Christian, in part because many assume it to be Newton's testimony about his slave trading past.
The hymn was quite popular on both sides in the American Civil War.

Thank you dear, u r the best chef, though sometimes the best alos fumble
haha.....amber, you're so funny...anyhow, just to comfort you, it took me 3 attempts to get it successful. I blur blur did not follow the right step. 1st failed attempt: I forgot to separate ingredient to A & B, mix together. End result ok lor, but texture not as good.
2nd failed attempted: separated A&B, but forgot the last step of 'inverting' it to cool. Taste also ok, but texture not as good.
3rd attempted: I made sure I read and read and read each step carefully. hahaaa....success.
By the way, you'll need to get all ingredient: cream of tartar (actually it's a sort of powder used in many baking too). One small bottle could last you forever.
Instant coffee: I use Nescafe instant coffee. Taste and smell good.
